Overview of Social Welfare The main objective of St. Patrick's Society, Jakarta is to raise money for charities in Indonesia. Most of our members are expatriates who will live in Indonesia for only a few years, and this is one way in which they are able to contribute to their host community and help local people in need. Money raised from our regular social events and annual ball is donated to a variety of charities in Indonesia. During 2009-2010, over Rp.168 million was donated to worthy causes in Jakarta and elsewhere. The organisations and projects already supported by St. Patrick's Society this year include: Yayasan Mitra Netra: http://www.motherandchildhealth.org Teachers salary for pre-school education for the poor.
